Design Dialogue: Following your booking of a 45-minute session you will be asked to fill out a detailed questionnaire. This will give AJD more insight as to what you would like to discuss in regards to interior design. This questionnaire will be used as a guide during your 45-minute zoom or phone call with our Principal Designer, Amanda.

Virtual Design Services: Following the inquiry process in which you provide us with all the details regarding your project, Amanda Jacobs Design will create a mood board to guide the overall design direction. Once we have received your feedback the design phase will begin. From there we will meet with you via Zoom to discuss the design. This allows us the opportunity to answer any questions that you may have while also seeing your reaction to the design we have created.

As a part of your preparation for your virtual design project you should have a clear vision of your style preference and the goals that you have for your space. This includes detailed photos of your design aspirations, color preferences, and the overall aesthetic that you would like to achieve. The more details and measurements that you provide us with the better we are able to help you in achieving your design goals.

The goal of our virtual design process is exactly that: to bring your own ideas and visions to life! Your space should be a reflection of you and Amanda Jacobs Design is here to help you accomplish that in a functional and reflective manner.

We recommend consulting your contractor in any matter involving structural, electrical, plumbing, or mechanical work. Amanda Jacobs Design is here to help in offering inspiration for interior design and furniture layouts. It is up to you to communicate with your contractor regarding construction materials needed to achieve the design that you aspire to have.

Yes, our drawings and designs will be to scale based off of the measurements that you provide us. It is important that you ensure that these measurements are exact as we will not be able to fully dimension them, since we are not physically present to confirm on-site measurements.

We recommend ordering sooner rather than later when we are providing links as items do tend to sell out quickly depending on the time of year. If you choose to wait to order or order in phases, and an item sells out - we recommend using the Design Plan as a guide for you to shop something similar.

Paint colors only? We recommend doing the Design Dialogue with Amanda.

If you are needing something more in depth in terms of finishes - i.e. paint colors, wall covering selection, architectural details, lighting, flooring, trim, carpentry wall applications, tile, hardware we recommend doing the 6 week process.

Design Dialogue: You can cancel your Design Dialogue session up to 24 hours before your scheduled time for a full refund. If you choose to reschedule, our team can provide the next available date.

Virtual Design: Clients can cancel within 72 hours of scheduled presentation time and are not required to pay the remaining balance.

After you have received your virtual design plans you will have everything needed to bring those plans to life on your own timeline and budget.

For new construction we recommend meeting with us at the beginning of the construction or renovation process if possible.

We encourage you to gather a list of questions and topics you wish to cover prior to your consultation so that you can maximize your time and get all the answers you need. If you have any follow up questions or run out of time, we encourage you to book another consultation with Amanda.

We highly suggest making an outline prior to beginning the virtual design process. This outline should detail things such as: detailed pictures of your project, preferences in regards to your color palette, overall inspiration photos, and personal style preferences. The more details, the better our team will be able to understand the design direction you wish to take. We will need your onsite assistance in obtaining measurements so as to ensure that our space plans are made to scale. Open and honest communication from start to finish will ensure the best possible outcome for the design process, resulting in bringing your vision to life.

Consultations made less than 48 hours in advance may need to be rescheduled depending on the AJD availability.

Our 25 minute consultation would be the perfect option for you! We recommend utilizing this option for any brief questions that you have regarding interior design.

It’s up to you! If you decide to do your consultation via Zoom instead of a phone call then we are more than happy for you to walk us through your space or you can simply provide a video walkthrough to Amanda’s Design Assistant prior to your phone call so she has it during your consultation.
